The Governor Visits Fairfield County Towns

Governor Jodi Rell visited Stamford and Greenwich Friday. Rell announced the state will receive $5,400,000 in bonds for rail improvements between Fairfield County and New York. The money will be used the electrical system at the Cos Cob station. The work is expected to begin next year and be completed by 2012.

The day before, the Governor was in Norwalk to announce Norwalk Community College will receive $18,300,000 in bonds for construction improvements there, including the renovation of a new health center.  Rell says, "This is a much needed upgrade".

Rell has also applied for federal stimulus money for nurses training at the college.
