Two Metro North stations vital for Fairfield County commuters traveling to New York are being improved. Majorie Anders of Metro North says that the Rye and Port Chester Stations will be undergoing a $9.5 million dollar sprucing up which includes repairing platforms at both stations and extensive repair and restoration work with both stations buildings. Rye gets a new roof, new doors and windows and a brand new sidewalk around the structure.

Port Chester will see a full restoration of the historic station building which dates from 1890. 17 wooden doors will be replaced and all 38 windows will be repaired and repainted. The project should take around 18 month's and begins in August.
