Dan Malloy, the potential Democratic candidate for governor next year, is leading a canned food drive that surpasses expectations.

The "Cans for Connecticut" drive was launched last month with a goal of raising $5,000. To date, the effort has brought in more than $10,000 in support of CT. Food bank and Foodshare. Malloy says he is very proud of the effort.

The drive will continue through the end of the month. Malloy says by going to http://www.danmalloy.com you can help feel the needy. He says contributors are able to make a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of their Connecticut neighbors.
