Lavorgna on Wright Tech's Future
Stamford's J.M. Wright Technical School could become a victim of the budget crisis in Hartford. Governor Rell says the closure could save the state $5 million dollars annually. As a result of the uncertainty, some staff including the assistant principal, have decided to leave. Principal Joseph Lavornga says if the school stays open, he will hire replacement teachers. Yesterday was graduation day and Lavornga is being realistic about the school's future by saying that he is "cautiously optimistic" that the school can be saved.
