Connecticut will receive more than half a billion dollars in federal stimulus funds toward education.

The money will be allocated among local school districts. Stamford Schools Superintendent Dr. Josh Starr says although the board of reps cut the district's operating budget, they still have a .3% increase.

Starr says this is the first time Stamford is receiving money directly from the state and not through the municipality.
