Connecticut Fund for Environment Urging Governor Rell to Reconsider Bus Fare Hike Proposal
A Connecticut fund for the environment is urging Governor Jodi Rell to reconsider her proposal over a bus fare hike.
The Government's plan is to raise the fare to 50 cents a ride. Group transportation coordinator, Ryan Lynch, says it is a regressive tax increase that people cannot afford.
Lynch says Governor Rell needs to find a revenue stream somewhere else. He says transit riders cannot afford to have the budget balanced on their backs.
