Elementary school student is Connecticut's latest suspected case
The young girl is from Middlefield. She was reportedly in Mexico last week during April vacation, got sick over the weekend, and has not returned to school since. The girl has been confirmed to have a Type-A influenza, but it has not been determined whether it is swine flu. The child is said to be recovering and doing well. Dr. Margaret Chan with the World Health Organization said noone is immune.
"Influenza pandemic must be taken seriously--precisely--because of the capacity to spread rapidly to every countries in the world," Chan said.
And the "Norwalk Hour" is reporting that there could be a possible swine flu case in the city. Test results are still pending.
