Stamford Resident, Paul Ridley, became the third and youngest American to row across the Atlantic Ocean when he docked on the coast of Antigua this Sunday.

He rowed 2,950 miles to raise money for cancer research in memory of his mother, Katherine who died of skin cancer in 2001. Ridley set off from the Canary Islands in his 19 foot vessel in December and rowed 10 to 12 hours a day.

Ridley and his sister, Joy, were able to raise $500,000 through their foundation to fund research and treatment at the Yale Cancer Center.
