A U.S. Postal Service investigation is underway into reports of roughly 700 payments mailed to Connecticut Light & Power were apparently lost in the mail. Spokesman Mitch Gross says the utility met with the Department of Public Utility Control to give them an update.

Gross says customers who wrote checks to CL&P between January 12th and January 16th and were not properly credited to their account should contact them immediately. Gross says customers should also take a look at their checkbooks for other checks issued and mailed off during that week.
