Wilton High School May Be Under Renovation
The Wilton Board of Selectman will meet today and may pass a $20,200,000 renovation package. If the proposal goes through, the money will go to the town's finance committee for their approval leading to a possible public meeting and vote in September.
Board of education chair Karin Birck says the work revolves around the schools ventilation system and older science classrooms. "We are only renovating the classrooms in the 1971 portion of the building, we are not renovating the five classrooms that were built in 2000," said Birck.
Birck also explained that the ventilation system is the most important aspect of the project. If the work goes forward, it would start in the spring of 2009 and be completed by early 2010.
