Volunteers Sought To Promote Cancer Awareness
Stamford Hospital is asking for volunteers to help create "The Mile Of Pink" on October 4. Participants will wear special "Paint The Town Pink" t-shirts and stand side by side in front of the Darien Playhouse, New Canaan Town Hall, and the Ferguson Library on Atlantic Street in Stamford. The event is to promote the Hospital's "Paint The Town Pink" campaign in recognition of October being National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
"It's really just to create an awareness to the communities for women to go out and be screened for breast cancer as well as create awareness for those survivors who continue to live in our communities," says Liz Manfredo, administrator of Stamford Hospital's cancer service line.
