The Future of Rogers Magnet Elementary
Stamford's board of education decided to close Rogers Magnet Elementary for budgetary reasons and the opening of a new state of the art magnet school in the cove section in 2009.
Now the building, last upgraded in 1974, is open for conversion. The board of education facilities committee met on Tuesday to talk about it.
Already under consideration is; a new police academy, currently located on Belden Street, a major expansion of the non-profit childcare learning centers, or even a local community center or another school. The facility needs millions of dollars in upgrades to meet regulation standards.
