As children around the state head back to school in a few weeks, a new study on kids and health insurance shows a full 30 percent of uninsured children nationwide did not visit a doctor last school year. Andy Hyman, with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, says the number is startling. He says it is especially disturbing for Connecticut, with so many kids suffering from diabetes and asthma. Hyman says studies show children's overall school performance can be tied to whether or not adequate healthcare is being received. For more information on Husky Healthcare, call 877-KIDSNOW.
