Stamford PD Responds To NAACP Email
Stamford's police chief maintains the department has and always has had a strong relationship with the entire community. The comment from Brent Larrabee comes after the NAACP e-mailed Mayor Dannel Malloy among others about alleged unfair treatment of black teenagers. The e-mail identifies a specific incident on the city's West Side, where some officers supposedly searched the car of some black teens illegally and without reason. Larrabee is open to the idea of meeting with the NAACP to discuss the bigger picture.
"I don't want to specifically talk about one incident although every incident's important," Larrabee says. "I'm more concerned with the general perspective of how we're doing across the community."
Malloy has responded to the e-mail and says he too is looking forward to addressing the situation with the NAACP.
