Identity theft remains the fastest growing crime in America. Studies show a person is victimized every 2 seconds. Norwalk State Senator Bob Duff says morre than 15 million Americans were victims of identity theft in 2006. He says Connecticut already has tough laws in place. Duff says laws have been strengthened to ensure that social security numbers are not being used as identification in any way. The Department of Consumer Protection says you should remember to use strong passwords on all accounts, keep personal information in a secure place, and do not respond to email that requests account information.
