Classes begin Monday for University of Connecticut students in Stamford but off campus housing is still scarce according to the Sunday Advocate.

A new web site designed to connect UConn students with local housing options launched may 1st but most of the 19 listings are from a luxury development, not very student budget friendly at where most students work as well as go to school.

School official are hoping the web site can offer students a alternatives to living at home and suggests that a homeowner could make a little bit of extra money by renting out a room to a college student. There is currently no on campus housing for Uconn Stamford students.
