Just in time for back-to-school shopping, "Sales Tax-Free Week" will continue through Saturday, August 23rd. Governor Jodi Rell says individual items of clothing and footwear less than $300 are exempt from the 6 percent state sales tax. Rell says with rising costs of everything from gasoline to groceries, people are looking for cost savings whenever they can. "Sales Tax-Free Week" is now in its 9th year. Governor Rell says shoppers saved nearly $4 million last year.
