4th District Democratic Primary Goes to Himes
Jim Himes of Greenwich has won decisively over fellow Greenwich resident, Lee Whitnum. Himes receiving over 12,000 votes, while about 1,800 were cast for Whitnum.
Himes believes if he is elected Congressman, he will listen to constituents and work on their economic problems. "As I walk around this district, as I meet people we've got families who are worried about their healthcare and their jobs," said Himes.
Lee Whitnum does not have any regrets about running even though she knew she would not win. "It feels so great to get out there and fight to make the country a better place, I recommend everyone try it at least once," said Whitnum.
Himes will take on longtime Republican incumbent Christopher Shays in November.
