Darien Bank Robbery Inside Job, Police Say
Darien Police say the armed robbery of a Commerce Bank last month was an inside job. It happened on June 12th at the Commerce on Post Road. Two employees opening the bank were forced at gunpoint into the vault and left there by two men. Police have now arrested three Stamford men in connection with the crime.
Darien Police Captain Fred Komm says, "an employee was involved."
"One of the men arrested was infact an employee at the time. He was employed as a teller and he was one of the reported victims that was locked in the vault," said Komm.
The formor employee is indentified as 20-year old Klaus Pierre Louis. He and two other Stamford men, 20-year old Stanley Romsaint and 35-year old Floyd Lawerence, are each facing robbery larceny and kidnapping among other charges.
Komm says, "more arrested are possible."
