The Connecticut Office of Policy and Management has awarded the $40,000 grant to the city. The money goes toward enhancing community safety by providing summer jobs for disadvantaged youth, while also boosting police patrols in high crime areas. Coordinator Katherine Pytleski says the award also complements two other youth inititiaves--The Governor's Youth Violence Prevention Grant and The Children's Mental Health Community Planning Grant.
