Weather Anchor

Paul was named winner of the 2009 Best Weathercast by the Connecticut Associated Press Broadcasters' Association. The annual event recognizes excellence in television and radio broadcast journalism in Connecticut.

It marked the second year in a row and the third time in the last four years Paul has claimed the prestigious award. Over the last six years, Paul has earned four Emmy nominations (New England, 2005; New York, 2007, 2008, 2010), the New York Emmy award (2007), and three Connecticut AP awards (2006, 2008, 2009). In addition, Paul was a finalist for Fairfielder of the Year in 2007 & 2009.

Paul began his career at News 12 Connecticut in September of 1989 as the evening weather anchor while also teaching Science and Language Arts. Paul is a ten-year veteran of education and was named Connecticut's Outstanding Elementary Social Studies Teacher in 1993 by the state chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

He began his weather career in 1986 as assistant at the Western Connecticut State University weather center in Danbury. It was there Paul began weather forecasting and broadcasting for a number of local and national commercial radio stations. That led to his position at News 12 Connecticut three years later. In addition, Paul also worked for the Connecticut Weather Center in Danbury and provided local radio forecasts.

In addition to forecasting, Paul visits a different local elementary or middle school each week as part of his highly-popular Weatherkids program which started in 1994. The hour-long session is extremely popular with students, teachers, and parents, and it affords Paul the opportunity to return to the classroom and share his affinity and passion for weather.

Paul volunteers as the voice of Fairfield Warde High School sports, Fairfield Pop Warner football, and Fairfield's annual Day in the Sun event for people with special needs. Paul resides in Fairfield with his sons, Billy and Eric.
