The region’s hottest concert series, Alive @ Five kicks off Thursday, June 25th in Columbus Park in Stamford Downtown. This year’s star-studded series opens with Smash Mouth and closes with Sugar Ray and includes Gilby Clarke, Better Than Ezra, Tonic and American Idols, Josh Gracin and Bo Bice. The concerts begin at 5pm and run seven Thursdays, June 25 – August 6, 2009.

Because of the success of the Alive @ Five concert series and the increased costs of bringing extraordinary talent to the event, the DSSD has had to initiate important changes. Please note:

Things you should know before you go!
  • You must be 21 and older to get into the concert area after 6:30 pm. Proper I.D. is required. If you are under 21 or want to bring your young family to the concert, you are most welcome to enter before 6:30pm and stay for the entire concert (No one under the age of 21 will be allowed in after 6:30 pm.)
  • There will now be a $5.00 fee to attend the Alive @ Five Festival. This fee is essential in order to produce a high quality festival. Children aged 12 and under are free, but must enter the concert area before 6:30 pm.
  • There will be a single main entrance located on Main Street just east of Clarke and Lower Summer Streets with multiple entry portals. This main gate is conveniently located near Bell Street, Summer Street and Stamford Town Center Garages.
  • Restricted Items: Attendees cannot enter with coolers, glass containers, alcohol, dogs, pets, video cameras or tape recorders. Backpacks and large bags are subject to police search. Please leave them at home.
  • Make sure you designate a driver if you are drinking or ask at any beer tent for a cab.

Kite and The Honors opened up for Tonic on The Heineken Stage in Columbus Park in Stamford Downtown. See pics of the bands and maybe yourself or your friends.


July 23rd - Josh Gracin
In the rainiest Alive at 5 of the season Josh Gracin, American Idol Finalist 2003, Laura Vecchione and Jonathan Marc Curri all put on a great show for those that braved the weather to hang out in Columbus Park. See the pictures

July 30 - Bo Bice
Bo Bice rocked Columbus Park and mother nature cooperated with a much better evening weather wise then the rain we fought the week before. Where you there? Check out the pictures.
